Humboldt County Divorce Records
Divorce (dissolution) is a court action initiated by couples who wish to legally terminate their marital union. These actions, when arising in Humboldt County, are processed in the Superior Court, Family Division. The Clerk of the Court is the custodian of all corresponding case information, documents, and materials.
The inspection and copying of divorce records maintained within the judicial system follows the same procedures as those for other family court records. Persons can utilize the Online Case Access Portal maintained on the Superior Court's website to view basic case indexes and document filing lists. They can also submit written requests via email or in person to the Clerk's Office to obtain plain or certified copies.
Under GC 70674, it costs $15 for public requests for a certified copy of a final divorce judgment. Requesters should note that confidential information in a divorce case file, such as information identifying a minor child, is never released to the unauthorized parties.
